Jackson County Public Library to host 'MiniCon'

SEYMOUR, Ind. - The Jackson County Public Library will host a miniCon for all ages this Monday, July 13, through Wednesday, July 15, at the Seymour Library. The Friends of the Jackson County Library sponsor all of the free activities.

There is a costume contest all three days. Participants can dress as their favorite character, take a photo at the lobby photo wall, fill out the form, and provide an email address to which the picture should be sent. Costumes must be family-friendly.

Winners will be announced in each age group: pre-K, kids, teens, and adults. Voting will take place on the library's Facebook and Instagram pages all day on July 16. Winners in each age group will be announced on July 17.

The hours for the event are 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on all three days. Here is the miniCon schedule:

  • Monday - Video Game Coin Box Drop-In Craft for ages 12 and up (11 a.m., 2 p.m., and 5 p.m.); Kids Pokémon Café for ages 11 and under
  • Tuesday - Anime Bookmarks Craft for ages 12 and older, while supplies last; Superhero Storytime for ages 11 and under (10 a.m. and 4 p.m.); Dungeon Crawl for ages 12 and older (2 p.m. and 5 p.m.)
  • Wednesday -  Video Game Keychain Craft for ages 18 and older; 2 & 5 pm: Dungeon Crawl for ages 12 and older (2 p.m. and 5 p.m.); Mario Kart Race for teens at 3 p.m.
